AI search & LLM discoverability

Make your public information easy for AI-powered discovery systems to retrieve, interpret correctly and attribute — and measure what can honestly be measured.

Why it matters

People increasingly ask assistants and AI search features instead of scanning ten blue links. Some call this work GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) or AEO (Answer Engine Optimization). Underneath the acronyms are a few concrete questions: can each system's crawlers reach you, does it describe you accurately, and does it cite you?

No one can guarantee inclusion or citation in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude or Google's AI features. What we can do is remove the obstacles you control and measure the rest carefully.

Scope

What's included

Access & rendering

  • A per-crawler access matrix: training vs search vs user-initiated fetches, for each major provider
  • Robots and firewall rules that match your policy — including accidental blocking by security tools
  • Checking that key content exists in server-rendered HTML
  • Search Console's generative AI features setting and Bing Webmaster Tools verification

Clarity & consistency

  • One canonical, factual description of your organization
  • Consistent names, services, prices and locations across your site, structured data and external profiles
  • Answer-oriented information architecture: pages that address the questions customers really ask
  • Public documentation for facts AI systems would otherwise guess

Measurement

  • Google's Generative AI performance report in Search Console
  • Bing's AI Performance report (citations and grounding queries)
  • AI-referral segment in your analytics
  • Scheduled sampled-prompt evaluations scoring mentions, citations and factual accuracy

Deliverables

What you receive

  • Crawler access matrix and implemented policy
  • Entity & fact sheet used as ground truth
  • Consistency audit across site, schema and profiles
  • Content architecture recommendations
  • Baseline AI answer evaluation

Measured outcomes

What we report

  • Bots you want to allow verified as reachable, with content in the HTML
  • Conflicting facts across sources reduced to zero
  • Share of sampled answers that are accurate, and that cite your domain — reported as a trend from a defined sample
  • Generative AI impressions (Google) and citations (Bing) vs baseline

How we work on this

Crawler policy is a business decision, not just a technical one — some publishers block training crawlers but allow search crawlers. We lay out the trade-offs for each provider and implement what you choose.

About measurement: several AI platforms provide no referral or citation data, referrers can be stripped, and answers vary by user, location and time. Sampled prompts are a sample, not market share, and we report them that way.

What we won't promise

  • Inclusion, ranking or citation in any AI system
  • Content "chunking" or AI-only rewrites — Google's guidance says these aren't needed
  • That llms.txt or any special file will earn citations

Start with an assessment.

A fixed-scope review of your domains, search infrastructure, AI discoverability and agent readiness — with prioritized findings and a plan you can act on.
